Being deaf in a classroom of all hearing students brings challenges for all the kids.

Kyra is a young deaf girl in a classroom with all hearing students. Her fellow students, though, want to know what it is like being deaf and understand how Kyra can communicate with them without being able to hear. Kyra’s mom comes to class to teach the kids how to communicate as well as a lesson in understanding some of the difficulties that Kyra faces every day

Kyra’s mom asked, “How did you feel when I was signing and not saying anything?”
Kyra’s mom listened to their responses.
“That is how Kyra feels when you are talking a lot of the time.”

No Words Needed is a story about understanding, inclusivity, and putting yourself in someone else’s shoes.
