From the Author: Book 05 – Michael, Michael, Michael!

Discover the story behind Michael, Michael, Michael! and the family love that inspired this book about autism and sibling understanding.

Michael, Michael, Michael! is a story that’s especially close to my heart. It was inspired by my best friend Carol’s grandson, who is autistic. Over our 40+ years of friendship, I’ve had the privilege of watching her family come together in the most beautiful way to support him.

This child is surrounded by love—caring parents, devoted siblings, doting grandparents (truly the world’s best), and a wide circle of aunts, uncles, and cousins who lift him up.

I chose to tell this story through the eyes of his sister because we often forget how autism can impact the whole family, especially siblings. Their perspective, their love, and sometimes their quiet challenges deserve to be seen and understood too.

This book is a celebration of compassion, family, and the many ways love shows up, even when things aren’t always easy.
